Some of the questions people ask me after they’ve been involved in a truck accident is how long it’s going to take to resolve. That’s one of those questions that no attorney can answer right away. It all depends on how long you treat and how reasonable the insurance company will be in offering you money. For instance, if you’re involved in an accident and you treat for seven to eight months, it’ll take probably two to three months from that point for an insurance company to make you an initial offer. That offer can be fair or it can be unfair, and then you’ll enter into a negotiation phase. You will eventually get the insurance company’s top offer, and at that point you can decided to accept or reject it, and your attorney will advise you as to what to do. If you reject it, then you’ll file a lawsuit, and from that point it’ll be at least a year or two before your case will be resolved.
